During its May 2026 plenary session, the European Parliament is set to vote on the provisional agreement on the revised Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) Screening Regulation. The new regulation would define a minimum scope for mandatory screening by the EU Member States, strengthen cooperation and accountability, and streamline processes and interoperability, thus providing for a common minimum level of harmonisation.
