Amid mounting geostrategic pressure on the global information space, reflected in the United Nations (UN) 2025 Global Risk Report, concern about disinformation undermining climate action continues to grow. This led to the inclusion of the issue of information integrity for the first time ever in the action agenda of the 30th Conference of the Parties (COP30) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in November 2025. In January 2026, the EU endorsed the UN declaration on information integrity on climate change.
