This fact sheet explains the concept of posted workers – employees sent by their employer to work temporarily in another EU country – and outlines why and how the practice of posting workers is regulated under EU law. It presents the EU laws that aim to ensure fair competition when services are provided across EU borders while also protecting the social rights of posted workers. It concludes by highlighting the European Parliament’s work in driving reform, to improve regulation and enforcement.
