This fact sheet explains workers’ rights to information, consultation and participation, and how the EU complements Member States’ actions in this area. It explains how the EU supports these rights by setting minimum requirements through directives and by promoting cooperation between Member States. It briefly outlines a number of EU directives that protect the rights of workers to information and consultation by establishing rules at both national and transnational levels. The fact sheet concludes by highlighting the role Parliament plays in upholding and advancing these rights.
