During the June 2026 plenary session, the European Parliament is due to vote on an own-initiative resolution on the European Commission’s 2025 report on Albania. The report expresses concern that despite Albania’s progress in EU accession negotiations, continued political polarisation and confrontational political discourse undermine parliamentary oversight, public trust and the effective functioning of democratic institutions.
