Artificial intelligence (AI) has the potential to change the world trade landscape. An own-initiative report by the European Parliament’s Committee on International Trade (INTA), to be debated in plenary in May 2026, highlights the points on which the discussion could focus in order for the EU to benefit from the implementation of AI, while ensuring EU strategic autonomy and embedding AI within a multilateral framework.
